AFFINE TRANSFORMATIONS OF THE PLANE

Translations.

A translation is determined by fixing the translation vector $\vec v$. The image of a point $P$ of the plane by the translation is obtained by moving it in the direction, distance and direction marked by the vector $\vec v$:

$P'=P+\vec v$

If $\vec v\neq 0$, then the traslation has not fixed points.

Translations preserve angles, distances and orientation.

In the figure we see what is the image of a triangle by a translation. You can modify the translation vector and the vertices of the triangle.
