ABSTRACT
When a leading axle
takes the switches of a
turnout, considered as straight line, the wheel-curved stock rail
contact point is displaced towards the wheel´s exterior
because
of he presence of the straight tongue. This dispacement of the contact
point causes in the axles a disturbing movement that could exhaust the
lateral play in the track, soliciting sidelong the straight tongue in a
zone of variable length, with rising reductions in the comfort of the
passengers and in the service life of the turnout. The authors have
developed a dynamic model that allows the simulation of the circulation
of the AVE/TGV Atlanique on switches of a determined turnout, analyzing
the behavoir of their foward bogie. This model analyzes the influence
of the vehicle circulation speed, the turnout deviation radius and the
minimal thickness of the tongue rail in order to allow the vertical
contact of the wheel.
