Numerical Methods

One of my research interests are the different numerical methods for solving both ordinary and partial differential equations.

When I started my Ph.D. I tried to gather the main description, characteristics, and advantages of all the methods I had studied into a conceptual framework. For this purpose I used FreeMind which is a free, multi-platform software to write visual diagrams. During the elaboration of my thesis I further developed the initial scheme. I extended the description of several methods and included some other related to the numerical solution of linear and non-linear systems, approximation, and integration.

Below, I present the mentioned scheme. As I said, the main idea is to visualize the methods, along with their general description, principal features, and main advantages and disadvantages. In addition I plan to include references for further reading.

I want to emphasize that it is under development and it has errors. I appreciate any kind of correction or suggestion. At present, the scheme cannot be edited on-line, but it may be downloaded here, the software is free and may be found here and my e-mail is at the bottom of the page.
